McDonald’s brings a taste of Latin America to the U.S. this fall with its new Dulce de Leche Frappé. Available nationwide starting October 30, the drink blends McCafé’s Caramel Frappé with dulce de leche syrup, creating a rich, sweet treat topped with whipped cream and caramel crunch.
McDonald's Debuts Dulce de Leche Frappé with Creamy Caramel Flavors and Crunchy Toppings
McDonald's is going all out this fall to keep its menu fresh and engaging for customers. Just weeks after introducing the much-anticipated Chicken Big Mac to the U.S., the fast-food giant is now debuting a new sweet and caffeinated option: the Dulce de Leche Frappé.
Starting October 30, McDonald's locations nationwide offer the Dulce de Leche Frappé, a 630-calorie treat in its medium size. This beverage features the chain’s popular Caramel Frappé base blended with a hint of coffee and dulce de leche-flavored syrup, topped with whipped cream and crunchy caramel pieces. While McDonald's McCafé Frappé lineup already includes mocha and caramel, this is the first time it has introduced a dulce de leche flavor to the U.S. market since briefly offering a Dulce de Leche Caramel Shake in 2013. Dulce de leche, a creamy, caramelized milk candy, is a beloved flavor across Latin America.
Though McDonald's only just announced the release, fans on social media have been spotting it for days. One TikTok user, @lifeasvivian, rated it a "10 out of 10" in an early review.
Try McDonald’s Dulce de Leche Frappé and Fall Favorites Before They’re Gone
Customers interested in trying the Dulce de Leche Frappé should act fast, as it’s available only for a limited time while supplies last. Meanwhile, the recently launched Chicken Big Mac (700 calories) is still available. It features tempura-battered chicken patties instead of the traditional beef. Still, it keeps the Big Mac’s iconic components: special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, and onions on a sesame seed bun.
Additionally, after returning in August, McDonald's seasonal Pumpkin and Crème Pie (280 calories) remains available in select regions. The pie, which is available in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Dallas, and Nashville, Tenn., combines pumpkin and vanilla crème fillings within a pastry crust.
