LG Display, a branch of the LG electronics company, is introducing another device that will make the gaming experience more comfortable, hi-tech, and better than ever before. It was revealed that the South Korean tech company will be unveiling its 48-inch OLED screen that can be bent.
The LG bendable cinematic sound OLED (CSO) display is also said to have the ability to produce sound without speakers. And it was designed for two functions: one for flat TV viewing and second for a curved view for gaming.
The LG OLED gaming monitor
This unique gaming monitor is set to be revealed at the CES 2021, and LG Display will be showcasing what this new product will offer through a demo. The world’s largest tech expo is scheduled to take place next week. Then again, the event and the presentations will be done virtually since people are still not allowed to gather due to the new wave of COVID-19.
The beauty of the LG OLED screen is that users can easily switch between functions and can choose to use either the flat or curved screen display. Curved monitors are preferred by most gamers and computer users because such type of screen gives them the best view of the game when playing since they usually sit in the center and close to the monitor.
On the other hand, a curved screen for watching TV is not a good idea because a viewer usually sits a few meters away from the screen; thus, a flat-screen TV is more appropriate to provide a better viewing experience. LG came up with the OLED bendable screen to provide users with the best viewing whether they are watching TV, using the computer, or playing games. With a simple adjustment, users can enjoy any view option.
"Its paper-thin screen bends and unfolds with a curvature radius of up to 1,000R, meaning that it can be made to bend up to a radius of 1,000mm without affecting the function of the display," LG Display stated via press release. "It can therefore be turned into a flat-screen while watching TV and used as a curved screen while gaming."
The CES 2021
The news LG OLED bendable screen is coming this month, and consumers can know more about the product through the CES 2021. This is the global stage for innovation as tech companies worldwide are set to showcase their newest inventions and products.
This year, it will not be held at a convention center in the U.S., but it will be shown remotely. The trade show will go as usual but with no in-person attendance this time. It will be a three-day event that will run from Jan. 11 to Jan. 14.
