Krispy Kreme has expanded its free doughnut giveaways for people who have already received their COVID-19 vaccines. The coffee and donut chain is offering more treats to make things sweeter for vaccinated customers.
According to CNN Business, starting August 30, Krispy Kreme will be handing out two free doughnuts to anyone who will show proof of their vaccination. The company will run this promo until Sept. 5, so customers should head to the nearest store now to get their free treats.
It was noted that the announcement of the new donut freebies came not long after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration fully approved Pfizer/BioNTech as a vaccine for coronavirus. The agency handed down the decision earlier this week, and it made the said vaccine to be the very first to obtain full approval.
This is the second time this year that Krispy Kreme has run a free donut promotion in an effort to help encourage the American citizens to get their vaccines to fight against the highly contagious coronavirus.
The company’s first promo was in March, and it was said to have given away more than 2.5 million doughnuts during the campaign. Last year, it treated healthcare workers, graduating seniors, teachers, and others for free treats at the height of the pandemic, and Krispy Kreme shared 30 million doughnuts at that time.
Now, for this second round of donut freebies for inoculated individuals, Krispy Kreme has made the promo sweeter by releasing special heart-shaped glazed donuts. Then again, customers have the option to pick the traditional glazed treat.
“We all hoped we’d be near the end of this pandemic by now. We’re not. So, please consider getting vaccinated if you’ve not done so already. And then enjoy and share two amazing doughnuts with our heartfelt thanks,” Dave Skena, Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, said in a press release.
Meanwhile, this latest giveaway from Krispy Kreme has been dubbed “Show Your Heart," and it will be available every day until Sept. 5. All that customers need to do is bring their valid vaccination cards to any branch in the U.S. It was added that anyone with Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine jabs is eligible, as per USA TODAY.
