There are very few details revealed about “Jack Ryan” season 3. If there is one thing fans can expect from Jack’s (John Krasinski) return, it is the huge possibility that he will embark on another mission that would take place in another part of the world.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3 plot, cast speculations: Where Jack’s next mission could take place
Running around different continents to neutralize security threats is an occupational hazard Jack is unlikely to avoid. It was something that Jack needed to come to terms with in the first season, especially with a budding romance with Cathy Mueller (Abbie Cornish). In season 2, Jack had already gotten used to it and even plotted a more risky mission in South America. Attending to missions outside the United States has simply become a theme in the show that fans could expect to see again in “Jack Ryan” season 3.
What is still difficult to deduce at this point is the specific region where his job will take him next. The location of his mission largely depends on the main plot of “Jack Ryan” season 3. However, there is no news yet on the premise of the third season.
It was reported last month that Krasinski and new showrunner Vaun Wilmott have just started working on the scripts for the third season. It might then take a few more months before details of the “Jack Ryan” season 3 plot is revealed.
The same goes for the cast of the show. Between seasons 1 and 2, fans saw that not all characters from the show’s debut installment were involved in the sequel. In fact, season 2’s storyline called for the addition of new supporting characters both on the good and bad sides. Jack and James Greer (Wendell Pierce) worked well with series newcomers Mike November (Michael Kelly) and Harry Baumann (Noomi Rapace) in season 2. But, again, the plot of “Jack Ryan” season 3 will dictate whether or not their return would be necessary.
‘Jack Ryan’ season 3 possible release date: Should fans expect a premiere in 2020?
The renewal of the series was no longer a question even before season 2 premiered. Amazon Prime Video ordered “Jack Ryan” season 3 many months in advance. However, that is not a guarantee that the show will return as soon as this year.
Going back to the report that the scripts were just being written last month, fans should prepare themselves to see 2020 pass by without seeing the premiere of “Jack Ryan” season 3. Note, though, that this is just a suggestion based on season 1 and 2’s production taking over a year to be completed.
