“Jack Ryan” season 2 is one of the most anticipated streaming platform series returning with a new set of episodes this month. The John Krasinski-led political thriller secures the top third spot in the list most binge-watched shows right on its opening week.

‘Jack Ryan' season 2 lands top 3 most watch series across major streaming platforms

“Jack Ryan” season 2 premiered with eight new episodes on Friday, Nov. 1, exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. To this day, it is still very difficult to come by actual viewership numbers generated on streaming platforms simply because the companies are not fond of making them public.

However, one reliable workaround to measure how well a series is doing on streaming platforms is through the online TV and movie service app TV Time. In the week of Oct. 28, “Jack Ryan” season 2 secured the top 3 spot of TV Time’s list. Its “share of bingers” is reported at 2.11 percent, which is far from the 10.93 percent of Netflix’s “Atypical” season 2 that premiere on the same day.

It should be noted, though, that TV Time’s data is based only on users that use the app to track TV shows and movie releases on streaming platforms. In Google Play Store alone, it was downloaded more than five million times, but it can be said that many binge-watchers are also not subscribed or using TV Time’s services.

‘Jack Ryan' season 2 cast: Where is Cathy Mueller?

The tandem of Jack (Krasinski) and John Greer (Wendell Pierce) returned in the second installment and was the main focus of the new dangerous mission, mostly situated in Venezuela. However, many fans noticed that one fan-favorite character was missing in “Jack Ryan” season 2: Abbie Cornish’s Cathy Mueller, who was John’s love interest from season 1.

Several fans have aired their disappointment over the non-appearance of Cathy. The character was not even mentioned in the entire eight-episode run of “Jack Ryan” season 2. Cathy’s absence was extremely felt when Jack started to cozy up with a new woman at some point in the new series installment, without even recognizing his previous romantic connection with Cathy.

Cornish’s camp of the show’s producers has yet to explain why she did not join the cast of “Jack Ryan” season 2. But People pointed out that the actress is one of the stars of the Australian miniseries “Secret Bridesmaids’ Business” that premiered in September.
