According to The Washington Post, there are growing calls for an immediate ceasefire and an investigation into the consequences of these tactics on civilian populations.
The deployment of unguided bombs is seen as a departure from the more targeted precision strikes that have become common in modern warfare.
In retaliation, Israeli military spokesperson Maj. Karen Hajioff stated that the IDF remains committed to international law and minimizing harm to civilians forced into the role of human shields by Hamas.
However, critics argue that the scale of destruction raises doubts about Israel's adherence to protecting civilian lives. The IDF has not yet responded to the new US intelligence reports on the use of unguided bombs.
