Iran has issued a sharp warning following U.S. airstrikes on three of its nuclear facilities, declaring the attacks will bring "everlasting consequences." Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who also leads the country’s nuclear negotiations, condemned the strikes as “outrageous” in a post on social platform X, calling them a clear violation of international law.
"The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences," Araghchi stated. He urged the global community to take action, saying, "Each and every member of the UN must be alarmed over this extremely dangerous, lawless and criminal behavior."
The Iranian official emphasized Tehran’s right to self-defense, adding that the Islamic Republic "reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interests, and people." His comments follow confirmation from Iranian officials that the United States launched precision strikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities early Sunday, escalating already heightened tensions in the Middle East.
The U.S. has not yet officially detailed the full scope of the operation, but the strikes are believed to have targeted strategic sites linked to Iran’s uranium enrichment program. The move comes amid rising fears of broader conflict in the region following recent exchanges between Israel and Iran.
Global markets and political leaders are now closely watching Iran’s next move, as concerns grow over a possible retaliation that could destabilize the region further and drive up oil prices. With diplomacy hanging in the balance, the international community is urging both sides to de-escalate.
This latest development underscores the fragile state of U.S.-Iran relations and the potential for far-reaching geopolitical consequences. As Iran signals it is ready to respond, the world waits for what comes next.
