Over time, many have questioned Donald Trump’s mental capacity, a remark that Trump often likes to use on his rival, former vice president Joe Biden. During a recent Fox News interview, Trump insisted that the cognitive test he took was difficult.
Speaking to Fox News medical analyst and New York University professor Marc K. Siegel, Trump explained how the cognitive test he took recently was very difficult. Trump cited the instance where the patient is asked to repeat and remember five words, also known as the Montreal Cognitive Assessment. Trump went on to say that listing the words in order was worth “extra points” and said how he found it easy to do.
“They said nobody gets it in order, it’s actually not that easy. But for me it was easy, and that’s not an easy question,” said Trump, who then said that Biden should take the cognitive test as well.
In a previous interview with Chris Wallace, Trump also insisted that the cognitive test he took was hard. Wallace then challenged Trump’s claims by revealing that he also viewed the cognitive test and saying that it was not the hardest test, contrary to Trump’s claims. Trump insisted that even though the first five questions were easy, the last five were hard.
“I’ll bet you couldn’t answer the last five questions. I’ll bet you couldn’t, they get very hard, the last five questions. I guarantee you Joe Biden could not answer those questions,” said Trump.
Meanwhile, Trump has canceled the upcoming Republican National Convention that was to take place in Florida due to the surge in cases in the state, sparking safety concerns. It was originally supposed to take place in Charlottesville, North Carolina; however, due to the social distancing orders in the state, the convention was moved to Florida. The Jacksonville sheriff has also warned that the state is not ready for such an event.
Despite the canceling of the convention, some of the delegates will still gather in Jacksonville.
The Democratic National Convention has already acted early, having already planned the event where Biden is to formally accept the party’s nomination to take place online.
