Anyone who has ever played any “Call of Duty” multiplayer game knows about the feature of being able to continue shooting others even at the brink of death. No such feature is supposed to be in “Apex Legends” but a bug allowed it to happen anyway. This is both a hilarious turn of events and an issue with a game like this one.
Based on footage released and descriptions about the glitch, it essentially allows downed players to keep on shooting at others even when they are no longer supposed to. As Comic Book points out, this is a problem because it messes with the game’s mechanics. The “Apex Legends” player who brought it up even acknowledged the act as a form of cheating even as he continued to take advantage of it.
For those who are having a hard time understanding why this is an issue, it basically has to do with everyone being on the same page as what “Apex Legends” is supposed to be. If players begin accessing features through bugs that no one else has, it would give them an enormous advantage. For example, being able to keep shooting even when down allows players to eliminate others who are not expecting to be killed.
This interferes with the flow of the game and can cause huge interruptions in matches. After all, it would make approaching downed players much more dangerous, and this could make the game unplayable. “Apex Legends” relies on the smooth flow of the combat to keep players satisfied and this glitch is throwing in obstacles.
Respawn will need to deal with this issue right away or risk alienating players more. “Apex Legends” is currently on an upwards trajectory and showing no signs of stopping, for now. If bugs like this continue to pop up, though, the game’s rise to glory is not guaranteed.
