Dr Cristiano d’Orsi is a Research Fellow and Lecturer at the Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria in South Africa.
He holds a PhD in International Relations (International Law) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. His research interests mainly include the legal protection of asylum-seekers, refugees,
migrants and internally displaced persons in Africa, African Human Rights Law, and, more broadly, with the development of International Law in Africa. Cristiano currently lectures in these areas and he delivers regularly presentations in international conferences.
Cristiano is author of about twenty among articles and chapters in books (both in English and French), and of a monograph: “Asylum-Seeker and Refugee Protection in sub-Saharan Africa: the Peregrination of a Persecuted Human Being in Search of a Safe Haven” (London/New York: Routledge, 2015).
