Senior Lecturer, Health and Ageing, University of Melbourne
With more than 30 years’ experience in the health and community services sector, I am experienced in strategic planning, policy development and service evaluation.
Over the last decade I have specialised in aged care, completing a PhD in the field in 2009. My work in the field has been published in journals, newsletters and industry magazines.
I am currently employed part time at the University of Melbourne, where I am subject co-ordinator of the Master of Ageing degree that commenced in July 2015.
I have also been invited to speak about my work on radio, and have presented at local, national and international conferences. In 2013 I joined the board of St Mary’s House of Welcome and I am also a member of the Executive Committee (VIC) of the Australian Association of Gerontology.
Mentoring, clinical supervision, teaching, research and submission writing are also key skills.
I have worked with government organisations, hospitals, member based associations, mental health services, child welfare, disability, aged care and not-for-profit organisations.
I have also taught at The MONASH University in research, social policy, health and ageing.
