Senior Lecturer in Computer and Information Sciences, Northumbria University, Newcastle
I have a background in computational mathematics, information systems, psychology, business and computer sciences. The multiple disciplinary background gives me opportunities to look at the social issues from different scientific angles. I enjoy exploring the problem and finding out the truth behind it. I am interested in research on virtual communities, business process management, ERP, and smart cities. I have done several projects including developing the intelligent matching system for the property letting portal, delivering the e-social science short course for social scientists.
My research interests broadly fall into two topics - virtual communities and business process management. In virtual communities I am especially interested in participation, online interaction, virtual worlds and online collaboration systems. My recent research in this area has expanded to include social computing and social media. In business process management I am fascinated by how business processes could be organized so that human work and life can be improved. This has been reflected in research areas including enterprise systems, business process change and organizational performance. I am currently working on social media, business process change, and organizational performance and supervising a PhD student whose topic is social media strategy. I am open to collaborate on projects in these areas.
