Wakana Mukai is currently Project Assistant Professor at the Security Studies Unit of the Policy Alternative Research Institute, University of Tokyo. Before joining PARI, she worked as a research fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Foundation (2010-2013) and at the Center for the Promotion of Disarmament and Nonproliferation, Japan Institute of International Affairs (2006-2008), Mukai specializes in nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation issues. She holds her B.A. in language and area studies from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and her M.P.P and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo.
