Justa Hopma is a post-doctoral research fellow at the University of Sheffield's Department of Politics where she is a member of the Global Food Justice team. Her present work focuses on how women’s organisations in Bolivia and Chile conceptualise “food sovereignty”. In the past, Justa has conducted PhD research on competing understandings of food security and food sovereignty in the Arab region, with a specific focus on Jordan. Other research projects included work on conflicts between conservation agencies and Bedouin constituencies and policy-oriented research into Jordanian agricultural investments in Sudan.
