Ian is a computational immunologist conducting his PhD research at the Vanderbilt Vaccine Center as part of the program in Chemical & Physical Biology, the Molecular Biophysics Training Program, and the Vanderbilt Program in Molecular Medicine. In his research, Ian utilizes the power of computation to address key problems in structural molecular immunology and systems immunology for antibody discovery, computer-guided optimized antibody design & next-generation vaccine design for various viruses and cancers.
While interested in the development of therapeutics, Ian also has an interest in the basic science that enables vaccine development and antibody design: antibody-virus co-evolution, molecular biophysics, and structural genomics, among others.
