Pravin completed his doctoral thesis in 2016 at University of Westminster in London. His research topic was a socio-legal approach to waste policy. The aim of his PhD was to conceptualise the zero waste economy, the waste hierarchy and the circular economy in sociological terms.
As a Fellow of the Westminster Law and Theory Lab, he is currently co-ordinating a programme of activities in relation to the circular economy.
He has contributed a chapter entitled "Incentives and the Culture of Recycling" to the edited collection "International Climate Change Law and Policy: Cultural Legitimacy in adaptation and mitigation", which was published by Routledge in 2014. He has also had published two articles in Westminster Law Review.
Pravin has taught seminars based on his PhD research in law and waste for the LLB modules "Law and the Environment" and "UN Human Rights" and LLM Corporate Finance module "Environmental and Social Responsibility". He has also assisted with teaching on LLB modules "Law of Tort" and "Commercial Foundations".
