Helen Owton works at The Open University in the Sport & Fitness Team. She completed her PhD in Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter and is a chartered psychologist.
Her research interests evolve mainly around aspects of gender and sport; women's boxing, sensory dimensions, maltreatment and safeguarding in sport, athletic identity, professional development in applied sport psychology, athletic mothers, creative methodologies, and chronic illnesses (specifically asthma).
