I am a developmental psychologist with a general interest in children's socioemotional development.
I have two main lines of research. First, I am interested in how children learn about emotions, especially through conversations with their parents. Much of my work in this area has examined gender differences in parent-child emotion talk and children’s understanding of emotions. I am also very interested in the development of emotion regulation and in co-rumination.
Second, my work focusses on examining family relations, especially parent-child and sibling relations. I am particularly interested in the relation between parenting and children's developmental outcomes.
