Lara Owen is completing a PhD on innovations in menstrual organisation (menstrual cups and workplace policies) in the Department of Management, Monash Business School. She consults for institutions and organisations on menstrual practices and on broader matters concerning women, especially in the workplace. Lara is a founding member of the Menstruation Research Network (UK), an interdisciplinary group funded by the Wellcome Trust. She is the author of an influential book on menstrual self-care: "Her blood is gold: Awakening to the wisdom of menstruation" (1993, 2008) and is currently working on a book on menstrual activism.
