Head of Audio Engineering and Sound Production (Brisbane), JMC Academy
Dr Lachlan Goold is the Head of Audio at JMC Academy in Brisbane. He completed his PhD in early 2018 and is published in the Journal of the Art of Record Production and as part of the QUANTEM group for the Queensland DPC on the lock-out laws legislation repeal.
In his creative practice, he is professionally known as “Magoo” and is one of Australia’s leading sound engineers, mixing engineers, and producers. The two-time ARIA award winner has worked with iconic Australian acts including Midnight Oil, Regurgitator, Kate Miller-Heidke, Powderfinger, Art Vs Science, Custard, The Cruel Sea, Renee Geyer, The Jungle Giants, Saskwatch, Tex Perkins and much more. Dr Goold has been nominated for an ARIA (reaching the final five) a further eight times. He has produced multiple gold, platinum, and ARIA winning albums, with more than 500 000 sales in Australia. With an extensive career spanning more than 25 years, Lachlan is known for creating creative recordings that challenge the listener, yet remain marketable.
