I am Professor and Director of the School of Aging Studies and Director of the Ph.D. in Aging Studies program; Senior Researcher in the International Clinical Research Center at the St. Anne’s University Hospital in Brno, Czech Republic; Courtesy Professor in the 2nd Medical Faculty at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic; and Associate Investigator in the ARC Centre for Excellence in Population Ageing, a collaboration between Australian universities, government, and industry representatives designed to promote solutions to challenges posed by population aging. My main research interests include the examination of risk factors for accelerated cognitive decline and impairment, early identification of cognitive impairment and dementia including Alzheimer’s disease, and research specific to our understanding of how work and retirement affect health and aging.
