Senior Researcher in Global Studies, University of Pretoria
Frank Mattheis is a senior researcher at the Centre for the Study of Governance Innovation (GovInn) at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Under a fellowship of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) he currently focuses on multi-layered processes of region-building. Previously, he worked as a research coordinator for the “Atlantic Future” FP-7 project as well as a senior researcher at the University of Leipzig. He is trained in global studies (MA, PhD) and his latest publications are the volume 'The New Politics of Regionalism' (Routledge) and the co-authored article An ocean for the Global South: Brazil and the zone of peace and cooperation in the South Atlantic (CRIA).
