NEW YORK and SAN DIEGO, April 04, 2016 -- Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP announces that the Firm has been appointed Lead Counsel by Judge Janis Lyn Sammartino, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of California, in a Multi-District litigation styled In re: Packaged Seafood Products Antitrust Litigation, MDL-2670. The appointment is on behalf of consumers of packaged seafood, such as canned tuna. The claims are for price fixing in alleged violation of the antitrust laws.
This antitrust class action was brought against Defendants Bumble Bee Foods LLC, StarKist Company, Tri-Union Seafoods LLC, and King Oscar, Inc. (collectively “Defendants”) pursuant to Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act, 15 U.S.C. §§ 1, 2, and Section 3 of the Clayton Act, 15 U.S.C. § 14, and state antitrust and unfair competition laws.
