OMAHA, Neb., April 13, 2017 -- Werner Enterprises (NASDAQ:WERN), a premier transportation and logistics provider, presented the Nebraska State Patrol Foundation a donation to cover all costs for an additional police service dog in a ceremony at the company’s global headquarters.
“It is an honor to partner with local law enforcement to secure a safer community,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Derek Leathers. “This contribution reinforces our commitment to safety as our number one priority.”
The nonprofit organization’s Police Service Dog Division aids in the detection of controlled substances, locating lost or missing persons and apprehending suspects. Werner’s partnership with law enforcement at the city, state and federal level will continue to make our roads and communities safer.
Werner also displayed its new Operation Hero truck during the presentation, representing Werner’s commitment, support and respect for first responders everywhere. The unique Operation Hero truck features both law enforcement and firefighters on a Kenworth T680.
