Sunrise, Fla., Feb. 15, 2018 -- WHAT: In an effort to help bring healing to the community following the Parkland High School shooting, MDLIVE is offering free online behavioral health counseling sessions to individuals impacted by Wednesday’s tragedy.

WHO: All individuals directly impacted by the Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy (i.e. victims or victims’ families, etc.)
WHEN: Free counseling is available February 14 – March 31
WHERE: Individuals may call MDLIVE’s dedicated hotline at 888-959-9516 and provide the code “MDLIVECARES” for a free session at no charge. Sessions will be conducted via phone or video.
MORE INFO: Individuals impacted by Wednesday’s tragedy are encouraged to talk to a behavioral health counselor to work through the grief caused by these events. Symptoms of grief may occur shortly after a tragedy or take several days or weeks to surface.

- Fear or anxiety of leaving home or being in a public place
- Nightmares and/or recent change in sleep patterns
- Frequent and bothersome thoughts of the event
- Depressed mood or social isolation
