The Minnesota Credit Union Foundation Scholarship Council (FSC) strives to build credit union awareness and strengthen member relationships through its scholarship program. According to the council, the award is given “in recognition of an outstanding volunteer for individual achievement and service. This individual actively supports and creates programs which build credit union awareness and strengthen member relationships.” The FSC annual scholarship program is made possible through its annual fundraising events, which include a networking event in January and silent auction in April at the MnCUN annual meeting.
“I am honored to be awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Foundation Scholarship Council team members,” said Erickson, who also serves as president of the TopLine Credit Union Foundation. “This award is truly a shared effort by all council members, for their countless contributions, wealth of experience and genuine passion to help support individuals pursuing post secondary education. I’m proud to be a part of such a remarkable, dedicated committee that assists Minnesota credit union members in reaching their education goals.”
"To say that Erickson is a team player is an understatement — and her commitment to our cause is unwavering," said Bridget Petersen, SPIRE Credit Union market VP of community outreach and former chair of the Foundation Scholarship Council. "Since joining our council in 2012, she has been involved in every facet of our growth, and is deeply committed to our mission. She was instrumental in the rebranding and complete overhaul of our committee two years ago, and with her help, the team is breaking all prior fundraising records. I am so proud of her for achieving this well deserved recognition!"
