ALBANY, N.Y., April 20, 2016 -- CDPHP recently inducted three outstanding local physicians into the CDPHP Physicians' Academy at a special awards ceremony. This year's inductees are:
• Edward V. Bennett, Jr., MD, a professor of surgery, co-chair of the structural heart program, and former chief of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Albany Medical Center

• Anthony J. Marinello, MD, PhD, a board-certified family medicine practitioner at CapitalCare Family Practice in Clifton Park and president of CapitalCare's Board of Managers
They were nominated by their peers and selected by an esteemed panel of judges for providing high-quality care, for their development and observation of best practices, and for their contributions as mentors to colleagues and staff.
Since the Academy's inception in 2004, CDPHP has inducted more than 50 physicians from a variety of specialties to help fulfill its mission to improve and promote the quality of health care in our community. This year's ceremony included a special remembrance of Anthony Tartaglia, MD, the Academy's dean, who passed away in March.
