Samsung Leaks Show Galaxy S8 To Come in Various Colors, Including Gold; Will It Surpass Apple’s iPhone 7 In Sales Though?

Galaxy S8 Leaks. Twitter/TechDroider

A new leak is reportedly supporting rumors that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 will be coming in a myriad of colors, including a gold paint job.

TechDroider tweeted a photo showing several phone cases claiming to be of the South Korean electronics giant’s flagship phone. According to the photo, the new variants of Samsung Galaxy S8 will be coming in in glossy black, white, blue, gold and silver. Another photo by the same account showed a photo of what looks like Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in gold and white, and this time with the phone turned on showing the home display.

The colors are not the only ones that caught people’s attention. The very leaked screenshots from unverified Chinese tipsters showed the “regular” Galaxy S8 and plus-sized Galaxy S8 Plus also showed curved front panels, top sensors, and on-screen buttons, which are consistent to the rumored specs dogging the flagship phones ahead of its March 29 special launch, Pocket-Lint said.

CNET reported that officially as per the Samsung US website, the only available variants for Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are black onyx and gold platinum. As part of the promotion to recover market share from the Note 7 battery fiasco last year, Samsung also debuted a coral blue variant of the Galaxy S7. As such the new, wacky colors are not a departure from Samsung.

But others are saying that although the smartphones look amazing, Samsung failed the very feature that could kill Apple’s iPhone 7 ahead of its own launch.

Quoting an unnamed source, a report from The Investor read, “Samsung poured resources into Synaptics’ fledgling technology last year, but the results were frustrating, With the production imminent, the company had to decide to relocate the fingerprint scanning home button to the back of the device at the last minute.”
