As tons of information and photos about the Samsung’s next flagship phone are leaked online ahead of its launch, the most important one for fans is the amount that they need to cough up for the next hottest smartphone in the market.
Know Your Mobile confirmed with a retailer that Samsung Galaxy S8 will come indeed with a price. According to a listing on phone retailer Mobilefun’s website, a black variant, SIM-free smartphone with a 64GB capacity onboard storage will cost you a pre-order price of GBP799 including taxes. Paul Briden for the tech site reveals that the amount is pretty pricey for the smartphone, which will most likely pick up in the GBP1,000 range if you want a higher storage model. But he said the pricing is a bit unreasonable:
“Still, though, £800 for the basic model is border-line crazy, as there’s not a huge amount of difference in the costs associated with building this handset than there was with last year’s model.”
The pricing, nonetheless, is one of the many things Samsung will have head to head with Apple’s iPhone 7. BGR notes the design’s highlights:
“The Galaxy S8 sports a bold new design that removes the oblong home button from beneath the screen and squeezes the ear speaker and sensors closer together above the screen. As a result, Samsung was able to substantially shrink the size of the bezels above and below its Super AMOLED displays. Couple that with curved sides that already feature almost no bezels, and you’ve got phones that comes closer than ever to realizing the all-screen design users have been clamoring for.”
And as the March 29 debut approaches, CNET said Samsung’s video teaser about the Galaxy S8 picked up over 25 million impressions last week, easily topping the viral charts. Apple, meanwhile, even failed to capture the top 10, which gave way for LG to come to a close 6th for its G6 smartphone.
