NCIS season 17 episode 16: Bishop and Torres might be the new Tony and Ziva
In “NCIS” season 17 episode 16, the team will try to solve one big riddle. Unfortunately the only clue they got is one single coin.
But it is not just an ordinary coin. Apparently, it’s one of the most valuable coins in the world, according to a brief “NCIS” season 17 episode 16 promo.
Part of the riddle is how it got to the hands of its current owner in the first place. “What’s a retired sailor doing with a million dollar coin?” Special Agent Timothy McGee asks.
But things get complicated. As the team investigates further, they stumble upon a dead body that was probably dead for quite some time.
“Last night we only have a coin,” notes forensics expert Kasie Hines. “Now we have a murder. It’s an impossible riddle to solve.”
Meanwhile, there are some speculations that love might be in the air in “NCIS” season 17 episode 16. As reported by Express, photos released by CBS seems to hint that there might be a brewing romance between Bishop and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama). In the photos, the two characters are dancing in a very romantic embrace.
Some fans believe that the pair will likely replace Tony and Ziva. “NCIS is trying to make Bishop and Torres the new Tony and Ziva,” @deja187 wrote on Twitter.
In fact, other fans want the relationship to happen soon. “The flirting between the two drives me crazy. When will the two finally get together?” @slayergirl87 wrote on the platform.
It’s even a bit frustrating for a few fans to see them flirting without their relationship moving forward. “The extra slow burn between Bishop and Torres is malicious torture,” Twitter user @Mkymousegirl posted.
Emily Wickersham who plays Bishop in the series already hinted that the progress of the two’s relationship might be slower than usual. “I think the process of it is more interesting to watch than the actual thing happening,” she said in an interview.
“While investigating the suicide of a retired Navy officer who left a rare, valuable – and possibly stolen – coin to the National Museum of the Navy, the team imagines themselves in his life story in order to piece together how the coin ended up in his possession,” the synopsis for “NCIS” season 17 episode 16 said.
