NAPA’s Jonathan Markley Named to Top Doctor’s list by New Jersey Monthly

MELVILLE, N.Y., Dec. 11, 2017 -- North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that one of its leading practitioners, Jonathan Markley, DO, was selected as a Top Doctor in the anesthesiology category in the November 2017 issue of New Jersey Monthly magazine.  He was one of just 25 anesthesiologists in the state to be so recognized.

The publication polled 24,116 New Jersey doctors to determine which of their fellow practitioners they considered New Jersey’s best doctors. The result was a list of the state’s 1,117 Top Doctors as chosen by their peers.

Dr. Markley has been caring for patients in the Northern New Jersey area for the past 10 years.  His focus has been teaching evidence-based medicine to the next generation of anesthesiology residents as the director of Regional Anesthesia at Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Since joining East Orange General Hospital (EOGH) as chairman for the department of anesthesia in May 2017, Dr. Markley has focused his efforts on providing safe and compassionate patient care.  He has begun several initiatives and protocols at EOGH to reduce perioperative pain and improve the patient experience. 

For this year’s list of Top Doctors, New Jersey Monthly commissioned an independent survey by Leflein Associates, a research firm in Ringwood, NJ. New Jersey-based doctors in practice at least five years were invited to give recommendations on the physicians they would choose to treat their own family members. The publication also receives assistance and input from the Medical Society of New Jersey as well as its professional advisory board.
