Fans should brace for a massively devastating installment. A well-loved hero is facing his demise in “My Hero Academia” chapter 281 while another one is likely losing his Quirk, all thanks to Shigaraki.
‘My Hero Academia’ chapter 281 MAJOR spoilers: Heroes suffer death and someone losing their Quirk
“My Hero Academia” chapter 281 picks up from the last scenes where Shigaraki appeared to have been physically torn from his fight with Endeavor. That is not entirely the case, though.
While it is true that Shigaraki sustained plenty of cuts and is severely injured, he is just filled with rage enough to fuel his desire to continue fighting in “My Hero Academia” chapter 281. Endeavor manages to charge with another Flaming Attack and Gran Torino notices that defeating Shigaraki could be an impossible feat since his body is fully synthetic. On the other hand, Endeavor’s Quirk is almost all used up.
Shigaraki goes on another series of flashbacks and monologues on how heroes destroy their families because they prioritize saving other people. Gran Torino recalls the time his close friend Nana had to leave his son to another friend and that he sympathized more with the hero than the crying child who just lost his mother. After this brief epiphany, Shigaraki sticks his hand through Gran Torino’s chest marking the retired hero’s death.
Fast forward to the last scenes of “My Hero Academia” chapter 281, as Deku and Endeavor attack Shigaraki. They manage to restrain the villain, but he still manages to grab a Quirk Buller and aim it at Rock Lock and Aizawa. The last panel shows a smiling Eri, and it leads to fans’ speculations that Eri’s image is just a flashback and that Shigaraki successfully throws the bullet into Aizawa possibly causing him to lose his Quirk.
