SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 22, 2016 -- Marquette University will implement Kuali Research to help support its strategic goal of doubling its research over the next five years.
The ambitious goal is part of the university's Research in Action initiative. Securing and managing the increased funding would be challenging with the university's current mix of isolated software programs. Kuali Research will provide a single repository for all proposal, award, and compliance information, and productivity and reporting tools to help the university streamline and manage the full lifecycle of its sponsored projects.
"We are really excited about the product," said Katherine Durben, executive director, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs at Marquette University. "Its integration to our finance office, and to IACUC and IRB, will give us a holistic view so we can track the award process, see what's outstanding, and manage compliance. And its easy online access will give faculty visibility into the process, too."
The solution also will automate many of Marquette's existing manual processes and eliminate the burden of rekeying information.
"We need to eliminate the inefficiencies in our process and work smarter to manage the increase in grants. Kuali Research will free up people's time and accelerate the proposal process," said Durben.
Marquette University will implement the complete suite of Kuali Research components, including pre-award, post-award, and compliance. Kuali Research provides full, online sponsored projects management to simplify processes and improve insights. The cloud-based solution is affordable and easy to get started so it delivers value quickly for all types of institutions from Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUIs) to very large research organizations. Its out-of-the-box reporting provides administrators and departmental users the tools to leverage its powerful repository of information to gain important insights and make more informed decisions.
