WAYNESBORO, Va., Jan. 09, 2018 -- Lumos Networks Corp. (“Lumos Networks” or the “Company”) a leading fiber-based service provider in the Mid-Atlantic region, has launched the Mid-Ohio Valley as its 27th Enterprise market.
Memorial Health System is the largest employer in Washington County, Ohio. Marietta, with a population of approximately 13,000, is the second largest city of the Parkersburg (WV)/Vienna (WV)/Marietta (OH) metropolitan statistical area (MSA).
The Company’s recently announced multi-year Enterprise contract to provide advanced fiber services to multiple locations for Memorial Health System in Marietta, Ohio and the surrounding areas, will serve as the anchor tenant for this new edge-out market.
Carrie Ankrom, President/CEO of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce (“MACC”), said, “It is exciting to see Chamber members partnering together to create growth and expansion in the Memorial Health System. This is an opportunity that the entire MACC membership and Mid-Ohio Valley will successfully benefit from.”
“We are pleased to announce the creation of the Mid-Ohio Valley as our newest Enterprise market,” said Timothy G. Biltz, President and CEO of Lumos Networks. “Our recent Enterprise win with Memorial Health System will allow Lumos to “edge-out” its fiber capabilities into the under-served Mid-Ohio Valley. The Mid-Ohio Valley fits well into our “Large Locals” strategy to reach Enterprise accounts in our seven key verticals where the preponderance of their locations are near our 11,000 mile fiber footprint.”
