Many people might think that gaming laptops are of the super expensive variety, but this isn’t necessarily the case every time. In fact, Lenovo just released a new line of budget computers that are not only light in weight but also light in cost. The laptops fall under its IdeaPad lineup and for the models that cost about $500, users get decent specs for gaming.
The base price for the IdeaPad starts at $250, though, buyers shouldn’t expect much from that since the configurations would be fairly tame. For starters, it would come with an “Intel Celeron N400 dual-core processor with integrated graphics,” PC Gamer reports.
With the beefier models, on the other hand, users can expect an 8th generation Core i7-8750H processor and a relatively powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU. The screen resolution differs depending on the model, as well, with the 330 models starting at 1366 x 768 and maxing out at 1920 x 1080.
For the 530S model, on the other hand, the screen resolution goes up to a crisp 2560 x 1440. Storage goes up to 2TB HDD, though a 256GB SSD version is also available. RAM goes up to 16GB, as well, which is just perfect for gaming.
As Digital Trends notes, these laptops are perfect for those who might have a gaming interest but don’t necessarily have the budget to afford one of the more expensive laptops or are not willing to invest in an actual PC rig. They will provide a decent gaming experience, though, it’s worth pointing out that they will not be anything spectacular.
Hardcore gamers who want FPS counts that are off the roof and everything maxed out to Ultra settings will not get what they need from these laptops. However, for the casual gamer who also has a need for laptops that they can use in their daily lives, these will work just fine.
