The latest promo messages for “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 suggest there is no more reason for the anime’s return to be delayed any further. This means the wait for Tatsuya and Miyuki’s next adventures could be down to less than a couple of months.
‘Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date
Anime fans were surprised when “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was announced last year. Many thought the series had been permanently scrapped after not hearing about its renewal for more than five years.
“Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was supposed to premiere last month, but the impact of COVID-19 in the anime community forced Eight Bit to delay its premiere by a few months. Since then, the anime’s return was set some time in October.
The studio has yet to announced a specific release date, but it seems there is no reason to worry. The official Twitter page of the anime series has recently announced a promo contest where the winners will receive an exclusive poster signed by “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 cast members. The said announcements indicated that the show is still on track for an October premiere.
‘Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 spoilers
Hopefully, Eight Bit will release another trailer before “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is released and, who knows, it might even arrive with the specific premiere date announcement. Fans who have only seen the anime might need another trailer to be reminded how the next story arc poses more thrilling scenes that will challenge Tatsuya’s abilities.
It was confirmed that “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will only cover the Visitor Arc. Though considerably shorter than season 1, this arc is a good way to reintroduce the series to old and new fans. Tatsuya’s abilities have attracted some unwanted attention from forces outside Japan and it could lead him to serious troubles in the next season.
It is also not surprising that “Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will have a shorter run than season 1 did in 2014. After all the years that went by, producers may want to see if the show still has the same appeal and if it could gain back at least its former popularity. If the show passes these untold tests, fans may even get a third season.
