Euro-zone economic sentiment index set to have edged down in May

Euro-zone EC's Economic Sentiment Indicator (10.00 BST) probably edged down again in May. There are already signs that the strengthening of the euro, slight rise in oil prices and continued Greek crisis have hindered activity. 

May's flash PMIs indicated a slowdown in business activity growth. And the euro-zone index of the German ZEW survey showed that investors' sentiment towards the euro-zone also declined. 

"We expect to see a fall in the EC ESI, perhaps to around 103.0." said Capital Economics
