Eco’s D-Fence™ protects fence pickets from mold, termites, wood rot and fire
The Company expects deliberations to conclude by mid-December
SAN DIEGO, Nov. 18, 2016 -- Eco Building Products, Inc., (PINK:ECOB) announced today it is nearing completion of product trials with two major fencing companies which will bring the Company’s D-Fence™ wood preservation chemistry for fence pickets to market nationwide.
Eco D-Fence™ incorporates environmentally friendly Eco Red Shield™ technology with a concentrated stain and Eco’s patent pending FRC™ technology to produce a superior performing fence picket in two levels of protection: Eco D-Fence™ III protects against mold, termites and fungal-decay whereas Eco D-Fence™ IV adds the extra protection against fire. Utilizing Eco’s patent pending Wood Surface Film Concentrate™, the fence picket is encapsulated in a semi-permeable polymer barrier that greatly reduces moisture transpiration, resulting in greatly improved stability which means less warping and twisting. At the same time it mitigates pre-infection by quarantining and mummifying mold – if it has mold when treated, it will not advance. The chemistry has no added formaldehyde and with the addition of our patent pending FRC™ technology, Eco D-Fence™ IV creates a fire break around the perimeter of the property.
“We’ve worked with distributors across the country to arrive at seven different colors driven by regional preferences and have been very effective at working with our stain supplier to develop custom color variations. We are extremely pleased with the product’s performance in terms of color fade as we continue to monitor and test local installations here in Southern California,” said Mark Vuozzo, Eco’s Chief Technical Officer.
“We are very pleased with the level of interest we have received from national manufacturers as well as large regional distributors and are working diligently to secure additional distribution in time for the spring fencing season,” added Eco’s President and CEO, Tom Comery.
