SAN DIEGO, May 10, 2017 -- Conatus Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Nasdaq:CNAT), a biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of novel medicines to treat liver disease, announced today that it intends to offer and sell shares of its common stock in an underwritten public offering. Conatus also expects to grant to the underwriters for the offering a 30-day option to purchase an additional 15% of the shares of common stock offered in the public offering. All of the shares to be sold in the offering are to be sold by Conatus. Conatus intends to use the net proceeds from the offering to fund pipeline expansion, to repurchase and retire 2,166,836 shares of its common stock held by funds affiliated with Advent Private Equity at a price equal to the net proceeds per share that Conatus will receive from this offering, before expenses, and for working capital and other general corporate purposes.
