Supercell surprised “Clash Royale” players recently with the announcement of the game’s Season 3 of new contents and gameplay. However, the developer also launched reworks on a couple of cards such as the Executioner that were met with mixed reactions.
‘Clash Royale’ gameplay update: ‘Legendary’ contents reintroduced
The theme of “Clash Royale” season 3 is “Be Legendary” that already hints at the reintroduction of several Legendary-themed gameplay contents. For one, players can once again participate in Legendary Arena Battles when season 3 went live on Monday. Staying true to season 3’s theme, Special Challenges will allow players to win Legendary-tier cards, chests, and Trade Tokens as well.

Same with seasons 1 and 2, Supercell also offers a “Clash Royale” Pass for season 3 that comes with exclusive contents and allows players to win special in-game prizes. The season 3 Pass costs around $5 through the in-game shop. New players can only access this after completing the five-level training challenge.
With a “Clash Royale” pass, players will have unlimited chances to enter the Special Challenges and will activate the automatic chest unlocking just make sure the chests are queued accordingly.
Players can still access “Clash Royale” season for free. However, purchasing the Pass Royale gives several perks and advantages such as an exclusive “Be Legendary” tower skin and emote. Other exclusive contents of the Pass Royale are 40,000 gold, guaranteed 3 Rare, 4 Epic cards, 4 Trade Tokens, and a Legendary chest with a Legendary card for those in Arena 6 and above.
Another significant advantage in owning a Pass Royale is that players do not have to wait to unlock a new Reward Tier as long as they keep playing and earning Crowns. In the free version of Season 3, each Reward Tier unlocks every 24 hours.
‘Clash Royale’ balance changes on Executioner do not impress some fans
On Thursday, the game was temporarily unavailable for a maintenance activity, so Supercell can introduce several balance changes for a couple of “Clash Royale” cards namely the Executioner and Fisherman. For the Executioner, the minimum range was raised from 3 to 4 while also increasing its damage points by 2 percent.

Damage: +82%

Range reduced: (min 4.5 - 6.5 max) > (min 3 - 4.5 max)
Hit Speed reduced: 2.4sec > 2.5sec

However, most “Clash Royale” fans on Twitter appear to be disappointed with the Executioner rework. One upset gamer even suggested that whoever approved these changes should be “fired” while another player said the rework made the card “useless.”
