It would seem that Gearbox is determined to impress with the “Borderlands Remastered” title that will be released in a few days. The game will be titled “Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition” and it is more than what its name suggests. Aside from the fairly impressive graphical upgrades, it also comes with some new features and all the main DLCs that were also given the improved cosmetic treatments.
As Polygon reports, the “Borderlands Remastered” game goes beyond just being a prettier version of its older counterpart. The visual improvements are impressive, with plenty of upgrades that affect the lighting, the textures in the game, and especially the characters themselves. It will even support 4K resolution and HDR lighting that will make full use of the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One X’s full capabilities.
On top of the graphical boost that the “Borderlands Remastered” is getting, though, the GOTY version will also be coming with all of the additional contents that are available with the original. This includes “Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution,” “The Secret Armory of General Knoxx,” “Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot,” and “The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned.”
For those who played the first game and felt underwhelmed by just how easy the fight with the final boss was, “Borderlands Remastered” brings good tidings. Gearbox is cranking up the difficulty to eleven, so players will have plenty of reasons to give it their all when they finally face the tentacled menace. Then there’s the matter of the minimap being added to the game that is reminiscent of “Borderlands 2.”
All of these and more will be available to players when they get the “Borderlands Remastered” that will be hitting shelves on April 3. Those who have been looking forward to this game will definitely want to mark that date on their calendars.
