When it comes to the ecosystem involving the Apple Watch, it is actually quite limited. That is to say, the device connects only with the iPhone and isn’t that compatible with any of the iPads that Apple has. The upcoming Apple Watch 5 might just change that by finally having something to do with the tablet. It does so by essentially following in the footsteps of Samsung and not much else.
The reports that have been coming out with regards to the Apple Watch 5 have been suggesting that the device will have its ecosystem expanded to accommodate more devices, Technobezz reports. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also recently released a statement regarding the device. Among the predicted features are a new ceramic casing, which should certainly up the fashion aspect of the wearable unit.
Among the most interesting propositions, however, is the matter of two-way charging using the iPhone and iPad. This was already done by Samsung, and with Apple being its biggest rival, it makes sense for the Cupertino firm to follow suit. Considering that the company has been largely devoid of meaningful advancements, of late, the Apple Watch 5 will likely suffer as a result.
On that note, if Apple can make the Apple Watch 5 compatible with the iPad Pro or any iPad, for that matter, it would be a huge leap in usability. Being able to seamlessly switch the interface between the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch would certainly come with a ton of huge possibilities.
Then there are the health and fitness aspects to the improvements that the Apple Watch 5 is likely to see. Among the expected features are even more health sensors to go along with the existing ones and to make those features more accessible to even more places. It would certainly go a long way towards making the wearable device much more popular.
