IBM and Adobe have collaborated to accelerate to help banks cope with strict government controls on how customer data are handled.
Adobe's software will run in IBM's cloud system that has been approved by regulatory bodies for use by banks, accelerating the digitization of banking functions.
The US government tightly regulates how banks handle sensitive customer data.
According to Anil Chakravarthy, general manager of digital experience for Adobe, the team-up makes it possible for sensitive data such as mortgage applications to be 100 percent digital.
Currently, data on mortgage applications are partly on paper.
IBM's cloud-based system will also connect to a bank's internal storage of customer data, giving them more flexibility to choose on the data that they place on a marketing campaign, said Bridget van Kralingen, senior VP for IBM Global Markets.
Several global banks, including BNP Paribas, and more than 30 vendors have joined IBM Cloud in its financial services effort.
