SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 21, 2016 -- Farsight Security, Inc., provider of the world’s largest real-time DNS threat intelligence, today announced that the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) Board of Trustees has appointed global information security expert and Farsight Security Chief Technology Officer Merike Käo to serve a one-year term on the Board beginning on January 1, 2017.
Paul Andersen, Chairman of the ARIN Board of Trustees, commented “we are pleased to have someone with Merike’s knowledge and experience joining the ARIN Board and look forward to her insight in helping ARIN best serve the needs of the Internet community.”

ARIN is the nonprofit corporation that manages the distribution of Internet number resources – IPv4, IPv6, and Autonomous System numbers – in its service region, which includes Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States. ARIN is one of five Regional Internet Registries in the world.
The ARIN Board of Trustees, which will consist of eight members when Ms. Käo joins in January, maintains authority over the scope, mission, and along with the President and Chief Executive Officer establishes the strategic direction and fiscal oversight of the organization.
