$49 ‘Apple Watch’ Available At Best Buy Until June 25

It’s likely one of the best “Apple Watch” deals of all time and it’s only available at Best Buy. As part of their Father’s Day gift offerings, customers can get $250 off of all “Apple Watch” units. This makes each unit cost only around $49, which can make it a great present for techie fathers who have been dying to get their hands on the wrist-mounted gizmos, but weren’t willing to pay the full amount.

Buying an “Apple Watch” or any kind of smartwatch has not become the essential practice that buying smartphones have become. A person can still live their lives without any interruptions if they don’t have a smart watch strapped around their wrist, but few can go a day without a smartphone.

Even so, being able to get an “Apple Watch” for less than $50 can be quite appealing. Unfortunately, as Ubergizmo points out, there is a catch. In order to get the discount, customers have to first buy an “iPhone 6” at Best Buy.

Customers can avail of the deal when they purchase at the actual store or when ordering online, and the phones have to be activated via Verizon, Sprint or AT&T. So it takes a little doing and involves steps that many would rather not deal with. More than that, if the customer already has an “iPhone 6” or any of the other variations of the current generation of Apple’s phones, it’s not likely that many of them would be willing to buy another one just to get the watch. There are exceptions, of course.

The hefty discount is part of the effort by retailers to clear out their inventory of outdated gizmos in order to make way for the latest iterations. As CNET points out, Apple is likely to start releasing the latest “iPhones” and “Apple Watches” next fall, so Best Buy and other retailers are going to be offering even more deals in the immediate future.
