Dr Nomvo Dwadwa-Henda is both an educator and a seasoned researcher with experience in conducting social science research which makes a difference. Her research includes culture, disability, HIV/AIDS and health. For this study, she received the Postgrad Scholarship Award from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Stellenbosch University, where she completed her PhD.
