My background in business and philanthropy led me to launch the Global Slavery Index in 2013, an international study of modern slavery that estimates the prevalence of slavery by country, identifies key vulnerabilities, and tracks government responses to the issue. My PhD research focuses on the ecology of pelagic wildlife, and on the implications for conservation and fisheries management.
