Assistant Professor of Sociology, University of Toronto
I am an internationally recognized punishment scholar with research in top peer-reviewed venues. My book manuscript, a history of the distinctive Philadelphia prison, Eastern State Penitentiary (1829-1913), is currently in the final review stages at Cambridge University Press. I will also be giving a TEDx talk in January 2018. I hold leadership positions in the Law and Society Association and American and Society Association; I am also on the editorial board of two journals. Finally, I have an active social media presence and would happily promote my article on twitter and facebook, and I expect those in my network would follow suit.
