Lecturer in Journalism, City, University of London
I am currently a journalism lecturer at City University London. I am originally from Canada, but have also studied and worked in the US, China, Hong Kong, Denmark, Sweden, and now the UK. I have worked in radio and television as a reporter and producer. Most recently, I have co-produced a documentary called Good Girls Don't Tell, which features the stories of women who have survived college campus sexual assault. I have an LL.M in human rights and specialize in how human rights are portrayed in news coverage - both in traditional and online media. I am currently focusing on the representation of gender in news, and especially how sexual violence against women is portrayed.
