Rhys Jones coordinates the MA in Digital Media at Swansea University. He teaches on postgraduate and undergraduate modules in media and communication. He specialises in media theory, but brings to his teaching his expertise as a researcher, programmer and practitioner.
He researches technologies at an early stage of their acceptance (or not) into society. He has published on the history and current status of the Welsh language online, and the way the internet was imagined in newspapers in the early 1990s. He is currently preparing a set of articles on the cultures surrounding the microcomputer.
